Midget AA
It was an ugly week for the Midget AA Broncos as they lost both of their two contests.
The Broncos fell 3-1 to Prince Albert on Feb. 6 in Prince Albert. Brett Simpson scored the lone goal for the green and gold, who trailed 2-0 after the first, and 2-1 after the second.
The final game of the week did not go any better for the green and gold as they dropped a 6-4 decision to Beardy’s on Feb. 11 in Beardy’s. Simpson, Gavin Ingram, Skylar Wallin and Damon Vanderlinde had the goals for the Broncos who trailed 2-1 after the first and 4-1 after the second.
Midget A
The Midget A Broncos’ league season came to a close with a two games to none loss to Davidson in the first round of the playoffs.
The Broncos kicked off the series on a low note as they were knocked off 4-2 on Feb. 6 in Davidson. Cody Bergermann, and Kaleb Pulice each found the back of the net once for the Broncos who led 2-0 after the first and were tied at two after period two.
Things only got worse for the Broncos in game two on home ice as they lost 6-2 on Feb. 8. Dawson Barlage and Dawson Siermachesky each scored once for the Broncos, who trailed 3-0 after each of the first two periods.
Bantam AA
It was a solid week for the Bantam AA Broncos as they wrapped up their regular season with a pair of wins.
The Broncos did not make things easy on themselves in their opening game of the week as they sneaked out a 6-5 overtime victory over North East on Feb. 7 in Humboldt. Easton Ediger scored the overtime winner, while Austin Berezowski chipped in with a pair, and Tyler Lindal, Deiondre Boychuk, and Nolan Allan scored the others as the Broncos led 2-1 after one, and were tied at three after the second.
The Broncos ended their week, and regular season on a high note as they picked up a comfortable 7-2 win over Martensville on Feb. 10 in Martensville. Kaiden Korolchuk led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring four times, while Jackson Mark chipped in with a pair, and Luke Stadnyk added the other as the Broncos led 2-1 after one, and 4-2 after two.
Thanks to their two wins the Broncos wrap up their season with a 22-7-2 record, good enough for fourth place in the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League North Division standings, as the Broncos won six of their final seven, and nine of their final 11 games.
Thanks to their fourth place finish, the Broncos will hold home ice advantage for their first round playoff series, when they take on the Saskatoon Generals.
Bantam A
The Bantam A Broncos are off to a great start in their first round playoff series as they picked up a 3-1 win over Lanigan in game one on Feb. 7 in Lanigan. Dylan Kellington led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring twice, while Rayden Ottman added the other as the teams were tied at zero after the first, and at one after the second.
Peewee AA
The Peewee AA Broncos ended their regular season on a low note as they suffered a 7-5 loss to Prince Albert on Feb.11 in Prince Albert. Blaise Athmer led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring twice, while Ryland Martin, Bauer Dumanski, and Edward Knittig added the others as the Broncos led 2-1 after the first, and trailed 5-2 after the second.
With the loss the Broncos wrap up their regular season with a record of 11-10-3, good enough for fourth place, in the Centre Four Hockey League standings.
Thanks to their fourth place finish, the Broncos will have home ice advantage for their first round playoff series, where they will take on Warman.
Peewee 1
The Peewee 1 Broncos’ playoff season got off to a tough start as they dropped game one of their first round series 10-4 to Davidson on Feb. 11 in Davidson.
Carson Haugan led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring twice, while Seamus Menz, and Jayden Cardinal added the others as the Broncos were tied at two after the first, and trailed 5-3 after the second.
Atom North
The Atom North Broncos kicked off their consolation playoff series on a high note as they picked up a 5-3 win over Wadena P in game one of their best of three series from Wadena on Feb. 8. Jarek Zimmerman led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring four times, while Caden Bauml chipped in with the other as the Broncos led 3-1 after the first, and 4-3 after the second.
Novice 1
It was an excellent week for the Novice 1 Broncos as they picked up wins in each of their three contests, scoring at least 14 times in each of them.
The Broncos kicked off their week in fine fashion as they picked up a 14-9 win over Lanigan W on Feb. 6 in Watson. Preston Hoppe led the way offensively for the Broncos racking up seven goals, while Jimmy Ingram chipped in with a trio, and Luke Manz, Anthony Schlatcher, Ayla Mutimer and Kohen Ruedig each scored once as the Broncos were tied at two after the first, and led 12-5 after the second.
After narrowly slipping passed Lanigan W, the Broncos responded in a big way blowing out Watrous 20-4 on Feb. 10 in Watrous. Hoppe led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring ten times, while Ingram chipped in with four, Schlachter added a hat trick, and Kade Baert, Mutimer, and Manz each scored once as the Broncos led 7-2 after one and 14-3 after two.
The Broncos’ excellent week wrapped up on Feb. 11 with a 17-7 win over Raymore in Raymore. Hoppe led the way offensively once again for the Broncos scoring 11 times, while each of Manz and Schlachter added a hat trick as the Broncos led 7-0 after the first, and 12-5 after the second.
Novice 2
It was another excellent week for the Novice 2 Broncos as they romped their way to a 17-0 win over Kelvington on Feb. 8 in Rose Valley. Jonah Hayward led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring five times, while Darian Nordick added four, Carter Trann chipped in with three, Jake Hoppe, and Jack Currah each scored twice, and Cohen Massier-Kubiak added the other as the Broncos led 5-0 after the first and 12-0 after the second.
Novice 3
It was an incredible week for the Novice 3 Broncos as they picked up wins in each of their four contests outscoring the opposition 82-25 in the process.
It was an excellent way to kick off the week for the Broncos as they rolled to a destructive 19-1 win over Rose Valley on Feb. 6 in Rose Valley.
Sloan Harder led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring five times, while Hudson Armstrong added four, Carter Possberg chipped in with three, Mason Parobec and Mitchel Dagenais each notched a pair, and Andrew Millette, Bryden Staniec and Zane Sand each scored once as the Broncos led 5-1 after the first, and 11-1 after the second.
The Broncos’ largest offensive output of the week came in their second contest, a 24-9 win over Watson on Feb. 8 in Watson.
Harder led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring 12 times, while Millette added four, Carter Possberg notched a hat trick, Parobec and Staniec each scored twice, and Sand added the other as the Broncos led 10-5 after the first, and 16-8 after the second.
The Broncos continued their strong run of play in their next contest as they cruised to an easy 18-5 win over Wadena P on Feb. 10 in Humboldt. Harder led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring a game high 12 goals, while Carter Possberg, and Parobec each scored twice, and Chase Possberg added the other as the Broncos led 8-1 after one, and 13-4 after the second.
The Broncos’ final game of the week, was also their most difficult as they won by a week low 11 goals, and were forced to come from behind to win 21-11 over Foam Lake on Feb. 11 in Foam Lake. Harder led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring 10 times, while Carter Possberg added four, Armstrong and Parobec each notched a hat trick, and Staniec added the other as the Broncos trailed 5-4 after the first, and led 11-6 after the second.
Novice 4
It was a tough week for the Novice 4 Broncos as they suffered a 12-6 loss to Wynyard S on Feb. 10 in Wynyard. Seth Holtvogt led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring five times, while Wyatt Meekins chipped in with the other as the Broncos were tied at two after the first, and trailed 6-3 after the second.
