The Battlefords Midget AAA Barons played just once on the weekend, that was on home ice against the Beardy's Blackhawks.
The Barons started out with a 1-0 lead after Quinton Cubbon scored from Logan Nachtegaele. That lead lasted nearly two minutes and the Barons never led again in the game.
Adam Tilford and Serge Ananas scored for Beardy's in the first period.
In the second period, Lyndon Johnson, Bradley Boehr and Lane Regnier scored for Beardy's while Battlefords' Jordan Henri scored from Jaroah Sasakamoose and Johnathon Shynkaruk.
The Barons tried to cut into the Beardy's lead whe nCubbon scored against from Nachtegaele and Sasakamoose scored from Joey Carriere on a power play.
Beardy's spoiled the comeback attempt when Colton Edward Roberts scored with five minutes left to make it a 6-4 game.
Tyson Edwards was in net for the Barons and Kevin Minto earned the win for the Blackhawks.
The Barons sit at 2-3-1 in the Centre Four Hockey League standings and hold the eighth spot.
Their next action is Saturday in Warman and Sunday at home to Meadow Lake.
