The Battlefords Midget Stars couldn't score on the power play and were short-handed way too often Tuesday night, as they were in Saskatoon to take on the Blazers in Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League action.

The Blazers won 6-0 over the Stars, scoring four power play goals, a short-handed marker and one even strength goal.

Mitchell Schwark scored for the Blazers in the first while Curtis Piecowye scored once in the second and Connor Gay added two goals. Connor Kortko and Keegan Allison added the insurance in the third period for the Blazers who improved to 7-7-1-1.

Goaltender Nigel Detbrenner-Rempel was named the Stars' player of the game after facing 44 shots. Daniel Wapple earned the 30-save shutout for the Blazers.

The Stars were 0/6 with the man advantage while the Blazers were 4/12

The Stars' appear to be getting healthier, as players are returning to the lineup after missing action due to injuries, but still two affiliated players were used Tuesday night.

The Stars remain at the bottom of the standings with a 1-15-0-0 record. They will look to improve that this weekend, as they host the Swift Current Legionnaires Saturday night and Sunday afternoon at the Civic Centre. The Stars' only win this season came Nov. 6 in Swift Current.
