The Battlefords Midget Stars were looking for some redemption against the Prince Albert Mintos Wednesday, but that wasn't the case at the Civic Centre.

The Stars fell 10-0 to Prince Albert Sunday and three days later, the two teams met again and Prince Albert took a 9-2 win.

An early first period goal on the power play and a goal with 10 seconds left in the first had Prince Albert in front 2-0.

The Stars drew closer in the second, as Kihisis Derocher scored his 11th of the season from Blake Young and Garrett Zelinski.

In the third it was all Prince Albert, as they scored three power play goals and a handful of point shots were redirected by the Stars' goaltenders for seven goals in the period.

Despite allowing five goals, Blair Mahon was strong in the Stars' net, but was replaced by Ryan Rewerts after turning away 35 of 40 shots and playing nearly 46 minutes of the action.

Rewerts, an affiliated player filling in for an injured Nigel Detbrenner-Rempel, stopped four of the eight shots he faced.

Ashton Clark scored the Stars' second and final goal on a power play in the third. Austin Duzan and Tyson Empey had the assists on Clark's fifth of the season.

Prince Albert was 4/6 on the power play while the Stars were 1/4. Prince Albert outshot the Stars 48-22. In the last two games, the Mintos outshot the Stars 91-44.

Along with Detbrenner-Rempel the Stars were without the services of other regulars Brody Tatchell and Brock Weston.

The Stars fall to 6-28-0-0 on the season. The Stars are now off until Sunday when they host the Saskatoon Contacts, who are first in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League.
