They haven't had many games in Humboldt, but their season is starting to get back on track. The Humboldt AAA Midget Dodgers baseball team played their last three home games in Watrous because the diamonds in Humboldt weren't in shape, said coach Roger Gerwing. The team played two games on July 5 against Yorkton, losing the first one 6-1, but winning the second 6-5."That was a come from behind win," Gerwing said. "Eric Bollefer pitched and came out with the win."On July 6, the Dodgers were in Watrous again, this time to play the Saskatoon Cubs.Humboldt won the game 8-1, with Cody Thiel getting the win, reported Gerwing. The team now has a 5-6-4 record, just one game under .500, he noted. The Dodgers' next home games are set for July 15 against the Saskatoon Diamondbacks and a doubleheader on July 17 against Moose Jaw."We're really hoping that the diamonds get dry and we are playing in Humboldt those days," Gerwing said.
