Minor hockey teams all underway

Atom AA Barons

The AA atom team had a home and away game on the weekend and earned one win. Saturday at the Don Ross, the Barons hosted the Prince Albert Sharks and won 9-7. Sunday, the Barons lost 8-4 to Lloydminster Universal Industries in Lashburn.

Next for the Barons is a Saturday game in Langham against the Saskatoon Renegade Hitmen and Sunday they play in Waldheim against Warman.

Peewee AA Barons

The Barons were at home for two games this weekend and earned three of four points. Friday, Melfort was at the Don Ross Arena and the Barons earned the 5-2 win. Gavin Nolin and Brandon Lesko each had two goals, while Blake Fennig scored the team's first goal. Blake Oborowsky had two assists and Owen Lamb and Rhett Lesmeister each had one helper. Dax Desmarais was the winning goalie for the Barons.

Sunday, Melfort were back in the Battlefords and this time played the Barons to a 7-7 tie. Lamb scored the Barons' first two goals, followed by singles from Oborowsky, Nolin, Jayden Nachtegaele, Lesmeister and Karsten McDonald. This time Mathew Flath was in net for the Barons.

The Barons are 2-2-1 this season.

The Barons are scheduled to be in Saskatoon for a tournament this weekend.

Peewee A Sharks

The Sharks opened their season in the East Central Alberta Female Hockey League with a win Saturday against the Lloydminster G-Force Peewee Girls. Tayla Poole, Skylar Peterson and Jordyn Tuck scored for the Sharks with Misty Bird earning two assists. Matheson Colliar was the winning goalie as the Sharks held on for the 3-1 win.

Saturday, the Sharks will be in Viking, Alta.

Bantam AA Barons

Tisdale was in Battleford Saturday and left with a 5-2 win over the Barons. The Barons dropped to 1-2-2 on the season.

The next action for the Barons is Sunday at home against West Central.

Midget A Sharks

The Sharks hosted Prince Albert in the North Sask Female Hockey League and won a tight one 5-4 at the Civic Centre Saturday.

This weekend the Sharks host the Saskatoon Bantam Comets.
