North Battleford Beavers Mosquito AA Team is hosting a Saskatchewan Baseball Association Mosquito AA Provincial Championship Tournament Friday to Sunday at the Civic Centre baseball diamonds.
Opening ceremonies are slated for 6 p.m. Friday at Beaver Lions Stadium with CamSternig, who is being inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame in August, throwing the opening pitch.
In addition to the host Beavers, the tournament will feature the Martensville Mustangs, Swift Current Indians, Weyburn Beavers, Prince Albert Royals and Lloydminster Twins.
The action kicks off Friday at noon with Martensville up against Swift Current. Two games are slated for 3 .m. with North Battleford meeting Martensville and Weyburn up against Prince Albert.
A skills competition will follow Friday evening's opening ceremonies.
Saturday the action begins at 9 a.m. with Lloydminster meeting Weyburn and Swift Current up against the host Beavers. Prince Albert plays Lloydminster at noon to wrap up round robin play. The playoff format then kicks in with the gold medal game slated for 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
