A team is defined as a group of people with a full set of complementary skills required to complete a task or a project. Jim Simon and Brian Maunula were working that definition to perfection on the weekend.

Simon and Maunula were one of the most consistent teams in the North Battleford Golf and Country Club's team championship that was underway Saturday and Sunday.

Simon and Maunula were in third place in the first flight following a score of 64 Saturday. Sunday, the duo took one less shot and finished with a 127 score and captured first place by three strokes.

The team of Silvester and Heroux finished second after shooting a tournament best score of 61 Saturday, but followed that up with a 69 on day two.

In third place in the first flight, also with a much better first round, was the Iverson/Cooper team with a two-day best-ball score of 133.

In the second flight, the Hornick/Weinmeyer team finished first with a two-day total of 132. The team of Sletten and Cunningham were second in the second flight with a 135 and the Thomson and Thomson team was third.

In the third and final flight, a score of 142 took top honours. The team of Darwent and Wheler were first in the third flight while Fraser and Martin, who were tied with the same score, took second place.

Thirty-six golfers competed in the annual event held at the North Battleford Gold and Country Club. The next club tournament is the Junior Classic Saturday, then one of the most anticipated tournaments - the Wayne Pruden Memorial Tournament begins at 11 a.m. Monday.
