The weekend wins continued for Muenster with the Midget AA Red Sox winning their league finals in Melville July 20-22.
Their win followed the Mosquito, Bantam and Pee Wee teams all winning their provincial championships on the weekend as well.
"It is pretty exciting," said Midget coach Jim Korte. "There is going to be some celebrating yet."
For the Midgets, the weekend started out with a game against the North East team.
"We lost to them 12-11 in the first game," said Korte.
After the first game, things turned around for Muenster and they won their second game against Weyburn by about seven points, said Korte.
The third game of the tournament was against Swift Current, which they won 6-5 with two extra innings.
After winning three out of their four games, Muenster went on to play in the semifinal against the Melville team winning 9-3.
This secured their spot in the final against the North East.
"It was a nail-biter all the way, going back and forth," said Korte. "They would have the lead, then we'd have the lead."
Korte was impressed with the way the team played over the weekend.
"The team really grew from this," said Korte. "They were a sluggish team but everything seemed to be going our way... We just carried on from our first win against Weyburn and got on a roll."
He explained they stepped up their game, both in offence and defence.
"We were hitting the ball really well and our defence was just phenomenal," said Korte.
The Midgets will go on to play in their provincial championships July 27-29 in Moose Jaw.
"It's another challenge," said Korte. "There are different teams there, like Lumsden, Macklin, Nipawin... We are looking forward to it."
He hopes to bring another provincial title home.
"Congratulations to all the other teams from Muenster for winning (provincial titles)," said Korte. "We are hoping to continue it on this weekend."
