The North Battleford Comprehensive High School Vikings senior boys volleyball team were admirable hosts for the 5A provincial volleyball championship in mid-November.
Despite going 1-3 in the round robin and losing out in the quarter-finals to Regina Campbell the Vikings team, coached by Bruce Friesen, didn't go away empty handed.
It was recently learned that NBCHS was the recipient of the Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association Milk Sportsmanship Award.
Members of the team include seniors Mitchell Bristow, Bryce Craig, Isaac Schultz, Michael Elias and Cody Blixrud. The other players likely to be back on the team next season are Jackson Nyholt, Blake Risling, Nick Odishaw and Cole Simon.
