The soft-spoken offensive lineman Kyle Pooyak makes it official, as he signs his letter of intent for the University of Regina Rams football program next season.

Kyle Pooyak stood 65?, 265 pounds on the North Battleford Comprehensive High School's offensive line last season and now the big lineman will look to do that for the University of Regina Rams.

Pooyak recently committed to the football program, which he feels has great coaches and feeling of brotherhood.

Also the fact that the Rams loss five, possibly six, players from last season's offensive line might not hurt. Pooyak will be on an intense workout program this summer in hopes of getting bigger and stronger, which will help him earn a starting spot with the Rams.

"We need big, strong athletes who can move," said rams head coach Frank McCrystal to the Leader-Post. "He fits the bill. He will be a guy who will challenge to travel. Some young guy is going to have to start."

Pooyak has played on both sides of the football with the NBCHS Vikings, but found a home as a main stay on the offensive side of the ball. Pooyak has won the Vikings' Most Outstanding Lineman award after the 2011 season, his first year on offence.

Pooyak will join NCBHS Viking graduate Joey Carriere at Rams camp this season, as the Vikigns program is expected to move seven players on to higher calibre football for next season.
