There are two outings of the New Horizons to report. The first was Thursday, July 5 when the number one team at one under par was the last team out. Herman Friesen, Ken Holiday and Irwin Temple took the honours. Ken made an eagle on two from 60 yards out. It's almost like a hole in one.

The first team out came in second with one over. They were Norm Soiseth, John Dove, Joe Waldbillig and Don Dill. Joe also records the longest putt for the day on nine to get a trip to the Co-op car wash. John Dove did have a hole in one on eight, but the gopher wouldn't give up his ball. The third place goes to Bruce Dalshaug, Don Beggs and the McNabbs with a 38. Bruce also gets an extra ball for coming closest to the pin on eight.

The consolation prize on a count back goes to Bruce Lotts, Iris Thompson and Bernie Meisner. Sorry Art and group, but your birdie on eight did you in. There were 33 out on Thursday.

The second session was on Monday where the Murrays and Buhlers came in at even par to take top spot. That was Don, Brenda, Ken and Marlene if you are looking for the first names.

The threesome of David Page, Bernie Meisner and Bruce Dalshaug take second place on a count back. They got ahead of Art Strueby, Henry Takatchuk, John MacFarlane and John Dove by not taking a five on six and coming in at one over.

Aron Cadrain came closest to the pin on eight with John Chomyn's putt on nine holding up over the next six teams to win the Co-op car wash,

Next Monday will see the New Horizons play again at the regular time of 8:30 a.m.
