New Horizons hand out curling trophy

The Alan Rogers rink of Agnes Tkatchuk, Henry Tkatchuk, Ralph Soiseth and Rogers came on strong in the last half of the New Horizons winter curling season to capture the New Horizon trophy on the last day of regular curling.

The Alan Rogers rink of Agnes Tkatchuk, Henry Tkatchuk and Ralph Soiseth win the New Horizons curling trophy, which was presented Tuesday at the Battleford Curling Club.

The Alan Rogers rink of Agnes Tkatchuk, Henry Tkatchuk, Ralph Soiseth and Rogers came on strong in the last half of the New Horizons winter curling season to capture the New Horizon trophy on the last day of regular curling.

The Rogers rink edged the Peter Pauls team, which included Tom Rayner, Doug Hall and Art Strueby.The win by the Rogers rink put them a half game apart once all the results were tallied.

Other winners Tuesday were the Gordey, Forester, Chadwick and Scott rinks.

All teams will gather once more to wind-up the season with a fun bonspiel Tuesday, March 22.Each team will play three four-end games, with everyone starting at the regular time of 10 a.m.There will be prize money handed out, but no team will go home rich, nor will any team suffer any great loss.It will all be in fun. There will be more to come next season.
