New start to New Horizons season

And the last shall be first - so says the Good Book - and so it was April 23 when the New Horizons played their first rounds of golf for the season at the North Battleford Golf and Country Club.

It was Bruce Dalshaug, Alexander Scott, Don Dill and John MacFarlane, team number ten, who came in at one under par to take first place. That team was one stroke better than Gary Nelson, Bruce Chadwick and Joe Gabruch and three better than the third place team of Nester Brunwald, Ali Raycraft, Art Strueby and Lynn Williams.

It was a perfect day for golf and that was likely the reason for the largest turn out ever for a New Horizons' opening day.

Forty-one were out to play and ten teams were made up for the scramble type golf.

The next New Horizon golf date is April 30 at 9:30 a.m.
