Twenty-year-old defenceman Dillon Forbes was recently named Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League defenceman of the month for his strong play through the month of December.

Forbes, from Battleford, finished the month with two goals and eight assists in 10 games played. For the season, Forbes has three goals and 14 assists in 33 games. He is using his big frame to shield away opposing forwards and using his strength to wear down players who like to go to the net.

Forbes enters his third and final season with the Battlefords North Stars and is considered one of the hardest defencemen in the SJHL to play against. His physical play and intimidating presence challenges opposing forwards in their pursuit to get to the North Stars' net. Forbes' long term goals are to earn an academic scholarship and compete in the NCAA Division I ranks.
