The North Stars have come together with local RCMP to initiate awareness for drug and gang related lifestyles.

They will be contributing to youth education in the Battlefords and surrounding communities for Project Forecheck.

Four players from the North Stars will be helping with the program. Kendall Fransoo, Connor Sych, Logan Nachtegaele, Tory Gerien, and assistant coach Braeden Johnson.

The team is now taking what they have learned to young men and women from grades five to eight, as well as local hockey teams. The North Stars have had three visits, while being scheduled to meet with one minor hockey team and four other local schools in the coming weeks.

The Saskatoon Blades and Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League are already involved in this program. The North Stars will be the first SJHL team to partner with the RCMP for this cause.
