The Battlefords North Stars are holding a "Haunted Skate" for their fans of all ages Sunday at the Civic Centre at 1:45 p.m.

Attendance requirements for the event are to dress up in your scariest or most creative Halloween costume. Prizes will be available for the scariest, most outrageous and most uniquely designed costumes. Players will be available to hand out refreshments, sign autographs and skate alongside all in attendance.

The North Stars are also inviting fans to the Civic Centre Oct. 29 to vote on the best-carved pumpkin contest. Pumpkins donated by the Battlefords Co-op Market Place will be carved by members of the North Stars and on display for fans to vote on at the Battlefords and District Co-op during the day and at the Civic Centre in the evening when the team hosts Melville.

Fans will also have the opportunity to bid on any pumpkin they wish to take home at the conclusion of the game. All proceeds generated from the pumpkins will be donated to the Cornerstone Community Outreach Christ Centered Ministry. Cornerstone is a non-profit ministry with 27 volunteers from several local churches and from within the community. At the soup kitchen, CCO volunteers provide prayer, nutritional food and fellowship in a safe environment.
