The Battlefords North Stars started the 2012-13 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League season with a Friday and Saturday home-and-home with their geographical rivals from Kindersley.

In Kindersley, Connor Creech played extremely well in the North Stars' net, but it wasn't enough as the Klippers won their home opener 2-1.

The next night in the North Stars home opener, the North Stars skated to a 4-1 win. Creech was again in net and Brody Luhning led the offence with two goals and an assist. Roger Tagoona also scored his second goal in as many games.

The next North Stars action is Friday at the Civic Centre against the Melville Millionaires.
