The Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association will be hosting six provincial volleyball championships this weekend and teams from Northwest schools are in on the action.

In 4A Girls, hosted by Assiniboia, Macklin and Unity will vie for the title. Macklin won the bronze medal in 2012 and Unity's last appearance was in 2010.

Maidstone will travel to Watrous/Lanigan for the 3A Girls championship. The Huskies last appearance in a 4A championship was in 2011.

St. Walburg and Wilkie will send teams to Wolseley/Whitewood for the 2A Girls showdown. Wilkie won 3A gold in 2009, while St. Walburg missed the playoff round in 3A classification last year.

Each tournament involves 10 teams in round robin play that beings Friday and concludes Saturday. The top four teams from each pool will be placed in a bracket draw that will be played out to determine the provincial champion.
