It will not be long until the 12-team North Saskatchewan River Baseball League returns for another season.
The league returns to action with a slate of four games Tuesday, May 21.
Games that day feature the Lloydminster Twins at Lloydminster Midgets, Wilkie Brewers at Unity Cardinals, Mervin Flyers at North Battleford Beavers, and Standard Hill Lakers at St. Walburg Reds.
The games May 22 feature Border City Blue Jays at Lloydminster Juniors and Unity Cardinals against Mervin Flyers.
May 23 action has Wilkie Brewers at North Battleford Beavers, Meadow Lake Sox at St. Walburg Reds and Midwest Expos at Standard Hill Lakers. The game May 24 features Lloyd Juniors versus Lloyd Midgets.
The regular season for the NSRBL runs for eight weeks until July 11, after which playoffs will begin.
The storyline this year is whether anyone can finally knock off the four-time defending champion Lloydminster Meridian Twins for the league title.
The Twins finished with a 12-2 regular season record and went on to defeat Meadow Lake for the league title last year.
