The North Saskatchewan River Hockey League saw six games in the last week.

Dec. 7, The Meadow Lake Stampeders prevailed over the Edam 3 Stars in Edam by a score of 4-3. Jordan Blaquiere, Brett Jullion and Ryan Roach each had goals for the 3 Stars, and Darren Caron, John Iron, DJ King and Jordon Oystrick scored for Meadow Lake. Jeff Vidal was the Stampeders' goalkeeper for the win.

Dec. 7 also saw the St. Walburg Eagles host the Wilkie Outlaws and the Maidstone Jets host the Turtleford Tigers.

In St. Walburg, the Eagles continued their winning streak, notching their seventh of the season by a score of 5-3. Trevor Bailey picked up one assist and Trent Campbell scored once and had two assists for the Eagles, tying them for first place in overall points in the league. Also scoring Eagles' goals were Duane and Randy Larre, Shane Williamson and Nic Wourms. John Harrter, Andrew Herle and Barrett Penner all scored goals for the Outlaws.

The Turtleford Tigers won their first of two over the weekend on Dec. 7 against the Maidstone Jets by a score of 7-4. Though Maidstone went up early and kept the Tigers off the board in the first period, leading 1-0 after 20 minutes, the Tigers responded with a flurry of offence, scoring five goals in the second period and two in the third. Andrew De Gruchy, Rory Gregoire, Jason Roberts and Kent Sayers scored for the Jets. Much of the offence for the Tigers came from Kyle Dodgson, who netted four, but Adam Schwark picked up two goals and an assist and Garrett MacNab scored once and had an assist. Darren Delainey had a total of four assists.

Dec. 8 saw games between the Maidstone Jets and Edam 3 Stars, the Meadow Lake Stampeders and the Turtleford Tigers and the Paradise Hill Hawks and the Wilkie Outlaws.

In the Edam-Maidstone showdown, Edam ultimately prevailed by a 7-5 score, with four goals from Mitch Wall and one each from Brennan Weitzel, Joel Jullion and Jared Blaquiere. Ben Schwartz picked up two for Maidstone, with Kent Sayers, Troy Johnston and Rory Gregoire each netting one. The five goals scored by the Jets was about a third of their total goals for the year (17), though it did not help them improve their losing record. Maidstone has lost all of their seven games.

In Turtleford, the second-place Tigers defeated the Meadow Lake Stampeders, who are tied for fourth in the league, by a score of 3-1. Brett Medve, Kris Bloom and Darren Delainey all scored for Turtleford and Darren Caron scored Meadow Lake's only goal. Jessie Ehnisz earned the win in net for Turtleford.

Finally, the Wilkie Outlaws moved to third in the league after a crushing defeat of the Paradise Hill Hawks in Wilkie. Barrett Penner scored four, Brett Schell scored two, and Doug O'Hara and Andrew Herle eache netted one to give Wilkie eight total goals. Jamie Sparkes and Justin Hougham each scored once in the third period to deny Wilkie the shutout.
