Two of the newest Humboldt Broncos - Emrik Guillemette (13) and Taylor Duzan (24) - force the puck past a glut of Notre Dame Hounds in front of the Hounds' net during their game at the Elgar Petersen Arena on January 1.

Win number 11 isn't a bad way to kick off 2012.
The Humboldt Broncos continued their win streak with an 11th win in a row on home ice on New Year's Day.
The Broncos took on the Notre Dame Hounds in their first contest of the new year, with two new recruits from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Forward Emrik Guillemette (born 1991) and defenceman Jonathan Parisien (also born in 1991) debuted for the Broncos in this game and made contributions - Guillemette got a goal and an assist, and Parisien an assist.
The Broncos' first goal of the game, however, came from veteran defenceman Nathan Hudema at 10:56 of the first period. Mathew Backhouse got the assist on that goal.
The Broncos added to their lead with a power-play goal by Joey Davies at 11:48 of the second, assisted by Parisien and Taylor Johnson.
Just a few seconds later, Humboldt made it a 3-0 game with a goal by Taylor Duzan, assisted by Andrew Johnston and Guillemette at 12:04.
In the third period, the Broncos got their fourth unanswered goal thanks to Johnston at 1:33. Kameron Ballas got the assist.
The Hounds finally got on the board with a goal at 1:44 of the third, but the Broncos soon responded with another goal, this one by Guillemette, and assisted by Johnston and Ballas, at 4:24.
The Hounds got a power-play goal at 7:34, and the Broncos answered with one of their own, scored by Ryan Marshall and assisted by Adam Antkowiak, at 11:05.
Finally, the Hounds put up another power-play point at 16:34, but it was too little, too late.
Final score: 6-3 Broncos.
Penalties in the game were slightly heavy. A tripping penalty for Parisien at 2:11 of the first resulted in a penalty shot for Hound Kale Derksen, but he was unable to score on Bronco netminder Colin Dzijacky.
The penalties - eight to the Broncos and nine to the Hounds - were all minor.
The Broncos out-shot the Hounds 30 to 26, but the Hounds were better on the power play, going two for seven, while the Broncos were two for nine.
All three stars of the game were Broncos - including Johnston, Ballas, and Guillemette earned a nod on his first night with the team.
The 6'2", 228-lb Guillemette spent a season and a half with Baie-Comeau, and another year and a half with Chicoutimi. He had 13 goals and 16 assists for 29 points in 61 games last season.
Parisien, a 6'2", 195-lb defenceman, played nearly four full seasons in Baie-Comeau, part of last season in Lewiston, and began this season in Halifax, all in the QMJHL. He had 20 points and 94 PIMs last season.
