The Wilkie Outlaws took a 2-1 NRSHL final series lead over the St. Walburg Eagles with a 5-0 shutout Wednesday night.
The Outlaws jumped out a 3-0 lead after the first period. Following a scoreless second, Wilkie scored twice in the third to seal the game. Jared Herle picked up the shutout for the Outlaws.
Mike Sittler had two goals in the home win for Wilkie. Rick Cey, David Schell and Mitch Suchan also found the back of the net for the Outlaws.
The best-of-seven series continues with game four in St. Walburg March 26.
The Outlaws and the Eagles begin their respective provincial finals this weekend. Wilkie travels to Radville for an 8 p.m. start Saturday evening in the provincial C final. St. Walburg hosts Avonlea Saturday night at 8 p.m. in the provincial D final. Both provincial finals are best-of-three series.
