One hundred and twenty swimmers took part in the Humboldt Hammerheads Invitational swim meet, held June 23 in Humboldt.
It was an exciting day at the pool, reported Humboldt coach Deb Stumborg, as some races were very close, won or lost by hundredths of seconds.
Thirty-five of the swimmers were from the local club, the Humboldt Hammerheads, and many claimed medals in individual events, and were ranked among the top three in their age groups due to their scores.
Haley Lins earned 10 points and third place in the 7-8 girls' category, and McLaren Paulsen, who had 21 points, placed second in the 7-8 boys' event.
Maya Berscheid placed first with 28 points in the 11-12 girls' event, and Elliot Dillabough placed first in the 11-12 boys' event with 30 points.
Michael Carnago was the clear winner of the 13-14 boys' event with 36 points, and Mitchell Mueller won the 15-17 boys' category with his 36-point total.
Finally, Ryan Stumborg won the 18 and over boys' category with 32 points.
