Due to the slow spring melt, the City of North Battleford has placed a ban on use of City sports fields and ball diamonds.
According to a City of North Battleford press release, teams and players are asked to stay off all fields and ball diamonds until they have been cleared for use.
Director of Parks and Recreation Keith Anderson says no fields will be open for play prior to May 1.
"We don't know when the fields and ball diamonds will be ready for use, but it won't be within the next couple of weeks. Many are wet and some are still snow covered."
Anderson said play on outdoor fields and ball diamonds right now would cause significant damage.
"Soccer teams and other teams requiring a field for practice or play during this ban are encouraged to contact the NationsWEST Field House to inquire about and book turf time."
The ban on use of sports fields and ball diamonds is in effect until the City of North Battleford issues a statement stating otherwise, the release states.
