The postseason is under way in the North Saskatchewan River Baseball League, although the bats had to compete with the weather during the early days of the playoffs.
But a severe thunderstorm that rolled through the area didn't stop the North Battleford Beavers from getting their postseason underway against the Wilkie Brewers Wednesday.
Wilkie opened the scoring in the fourth when Mike Sittler was doubled home from second, and then the Beaverss came back in the bottom of the inning when Brad Eischon hit an inside-the-park home run.
It took extra innings and the Beavers won in the eighth when Eischon scored from third, beating out a tag at home plate to win the game.
Other action from Wednesday saw Kindersley Raiders upset the Lloydminster Twins 2-1 and the Meadow Lake Sox over the Border City Jays 8-7.
The playoffs opened Tuesday night with the Lloydminster Juniors prevailing by a 3-1 score over the Unity Cardinals.
A full slate of playoff games was scheduled for Thursday night with all eight teams in action. The Beavers were on the road this time for game two in Wilkie.
