Some teams have yet to hit the ice for provincials while other have already advanced or been eliminated.
Senior AAA
The first round got started last week with two lopsided wins. In once semi final it was Rosetown beating Balgonie 7-1. In Lloydminster, the Border Kings lost 10-2 to Shellbrook.
Senior A
St. Walburg lost game one of the best-of three series to Rosthern. Rosthern once again has recruited the services of Maidstone's Brett Harrison and Rory Gregoire. Game two of this series will go Saturday in St. Walburg.
Senior B
Unity and Perdue have yet to play a game, but game one and two are scheduled for Feb. 22 and 23.
Senior C
The Wilkie Outlaws earned a game one win over Allan by a 6-3 score. Game two of that series will go Saturday in Wilkie.
Senior D
Turtleford beat Kerrobert in the first round after a 5-4 and 4-3 win. That moved them on to face Elrose, who beat Luseland. The first game of this series was scheduled for Wednesday in Turtleford with game two in Elrose Friday.
Edam had a first round bye and faced Dundurn in the northern quarter-finals. Edam won the first game 3-0 and game two is scheduled for Saturday in Dundurn.
Midget A
The Unity Lazers, who are on top of the Hi-way 14 Hockey League beat Rosthern 9-3 and 6-0 to advance to the northern final. They will face the winner of Battleford and Martensville. Game one will be played Feb. 14 in Martensville with game two scheduled for March 2 at Battleford Arena.
Female Midget A
Neilburg took a commanding lead in their northern semi final series against Prince Albert, as they won 11-1. They will face the winner of Saskatoon and Elrose in the northern final.
Midget B
St. Walburg snuck through the first round after a good series with Rosetown. St. Walburg lost the first game 4-3, but won game two 4-2. They will now face Kindersley in the northern quarter-final.
Midget C
Maidstone won their first round matchup against Shellbrook. Shellbrook won the first game of the series 4-3, but lost 8-2 in game two in Maidstone. Maidstone now faces Porcupine Plain in the northern semi final.
Midget D
Eight teams remain in the provincial bracket including Wilkie and Edam. Edam beat Lake Lenore 4-3 and 7-3 and will now face Muenster. Wilkie beat Kenaston 5-3 and 5-2 and will face off with Macklin.
Bantam A
The Battleford Barons are awaiting the winner between Warman and Martensville, as the Barons had a first round bye to the northern final.
Bantam B
Unity and Meadow Lake have played one game in their series and Meadow Lake won 5-4.
After St. Louis beat Biggar in the first round they will face Spiritwood in the second round.
Bantam C
St. Walburg beat Dundurn 6-2 and 8-2 to advance to the northern semi finals. They are set to face the winner between Clavet and Shellbrook.
Peewee A
The Battlefords Barons are set to face Martensville in the first round Feb. 17 at Battleford Arena and Feb. 23 in Martensville.
Peewee C
Spiritwood has yet to start their series with Beardy's while Unity and Turtleford also are ready to start provincials after first round byes.
Peewee D
Wilkie won the first game of the series over Lashburn 8-7. Game two will be played in Wilkie with the winner advancing to the northern semi final.
