Put a lid on it

For kids, hockey is more than just a game. From the first time they lace up their skates, hockey helps teach the importance of positive attitude, teamwork, dedication, and most of all, how to have fun.

For kids, hockey is more than just a game. From the first time they lace up their skates, hockey helps teach the importance of positive attitude, teamwork, dedication, and most of all, how to have fun.

To help ensure they remain safe on the ice, Hockey Canada is partnered with Chevrolet and again offering the Safe and Fun Hockey Program. Chevrolet has also partnered with ThinkFirst Canada - the leaders in injury prevention to the brain and spinal cord.

Working together with Bauer the program is set to keep Canadians safe on the ice. The Helmet Program is offered to children born in 2007 and registered in a Canadian Minor Hockey Association. They are eligible to receive a free Bauer 2100 youth hockey helmet from Chevrolet. Sign up today to give your child a head start on safety. To learn more about Chevrolet Safe and Fun Hockey Program initiatives visit www.safeandfunhockey.ca or find the Facebook page.

There is a limit of one Bauer 2100 helmet combo per child and the offer is available until Nov. 30.

Also the ThinkFirst Concussion Awareness Program is offering discount prices on the ThinkFirst Concussion Awareness Course. The course identifies the signs and symptoms associated with a concussion, details why a child with a suspected concussion must be removed from play immediately, and examines each step of the six-step return to play protocol.
