Many hockey fans were anticipating the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Humboldt Broncos and the British Columbia Hockey League's Penticton Vees to be the two top teams at the 2012 RBC Cup.

Humboldt, the host team, has lived up the expectations to this point, as they won their first two games, 4-1 over the Woodstock Slammers and 3-2 in overtime over Penticton.

Sunday, the Broncos played the Vees in front of a sold out crowd with many from the Battlefords in attendance to watch the Battlefords own Bryce Gervais, who plays for the Vees. Gervais didn't record a point in the game against Humboldt, but did have an assist in the Vees first game of the tournament.

Penticton played Woodstock Tuesday and will be up against the Portage Terriers Wednesday.

Humboldt played the Soo Thunderbirds Tuesday and will finish the round robin against Portage Thursday.

After three days of action, Humboldt was the lone unbeaten team while the Vees were the only winless team. The other three teams were 1-1 after Monday's action.
