The Lashburn Curling Club is set to host the first Prairie Bog Jog, a 5 km course set up with a variety of challenging obstacles designed to provide participants an afternoon of fun.
There will also be no shortage of water and mud on the course June 8. The Prairie Bog Job will include 10 to 15 obstacles making participants go over and under, balance, climb and likely get wet and muddy.
"The course will be challenging, but it will also be a lot of fun. We encourage individuals of all fitness levels who are interested in participating to do so," says Lisa Henry the race director. "We have decided to not time the event and participants will not be awarded a rank in terms of how long it took them to finish. We want all the participants to be able to enjoy the obstacles and get muddy, not worry about being first, second or third place."
Information about the event is being released on an on going basis to the Prairie Bog Job Facebook page and registration is open until May 8. All participants must register at runningroom.com.
This is not the first extreme fundraising idea for Lashburn, as the community annually features the Brad Phipps Professional Bull Riding. This is great new idea to raise funds for the curling club and get new people to the community who have never been to Lashburn explains Henry.
