They will bring glory to the region.
A group of talented young athletes from the Humboldt region will be headed to the 2012 Saskatchewan Summer Games in Meadow Lake July 29 to August 4.
The athletes, who are part of Team Prairie Central, all attended a pep rally in Lanigan on July 19 to make travel arrangements, get their uniforms and learn more about the event.
Stephanie Cuddington, the mission staff leader for Team Prairie Central, led the pep rally, explaining rules and introducing her mission staff to the athletes. The mission staff will be there to help the athletes, managers and coaches during the games.
"I am looking forward to working with all of you," said Cuddington.
The Saskatchewan Summer Games are open to athletes over 11 years of age, who are still in high school across the province. They go through trials to qualify for the games.
"Some of you have had long journeys to get to this point," said Cuddington.
After congratulating the athletes for being part of the team, Cuddington, and her staff introduced the athletes and teams during the pep rally.
