As the Battlefords 50s hockey club prepared for their 31st annual hockey tournament, the North Battleford Kinsmen, like all Kinsmen clubs across Saskatchewan, were preparing for the 35th annual Telemiracle.

Two separate events, which are only successful as those who run and support them, were joined together Friday, as the Battlefords 50s donated $1,500 to the Kinsmen Club to present at Telemiracle.

Last season, the 50s donated $1,500 to help with the installation of the glass at the Don Ross Arena. After the Civic Centre was renovated and new glass was used, the idea to put the old Civic Centre glass into the Don Ross Arena was a welcomed by hockey fans who feel safer behind the higher glass.

Terry Seime, of Battlefords 50s said the plan for this year's tournament money is to donate it to the CUPlex before the 2012 version of the tournament.

The Kinsmen Club was busy collecting more donations as they prepared to represent the Battlefords in Saskatoon.
