All four series in the North Saskatchewan River Hockey League are on the verge of being three-game sweeps.

The first place Maidstone Jets beat Paradise Hill 5-1 and 5-4. Kent Sayers had two goals while Jason Roberts had a goal and two assists in the game one win Sunday. The teams will play game three Sunday in Maidstone.

Dustin MacDonald appears to be meeting the expectations as the first team all-star goalie and has been between the pipes for both wins.

The second place Wilkie Outlaws trail the Edam 3 Stars 2-0 in the series. The 3 Stars played a good road game Sunday winning 5-3. At home Wednesday they won by the same score.

Ryan Roach was one of the five 3 Stars to score in game one and in game two he chipped in with a hat trick. Quinton Gauthier appears to be in his usual playoff form along with the full roster Edam had for the first two games.

Game three of the series is set for Friday in Wilkie.

St. Walburg earned the third spot in the NSRHL standings and faced Turtleford in the first round. The Eagles won 4-2 Saturday, as Scott Thompson led the offence with a hat trick.

The Eagles carried the momentum into an 8-5 win Sunday in Turtleford. Darren Delainey this time had a hat trick, as the offence continues to try to fill the void left by Aaron Goldade being out of the lineup. Bryan Bridges was in net for both St. Walburg wins. Game three is set for Friday when St. Walburg looks to end the series on home ice

The Meadow Lake/Spiritwood series started as a hard-hitting battle in game one in Spiritwood. The Stampeders won 7-4 Saturday and won 3-1 Sunday in Meadow Lake. Rick Dallyn earned both Stampeders wins while Dustin Gorst lead the way in game one with five points. Calvin Fiddler supplied the offence in game two with two goals.

The Timberwolves will look to avoid the series sweep on home ice Friday.
