The wheels are in motion and the North Saskatchewan River Hockey League executive is in the process of finalizing the schedule and preparing for the 2012-13 season.
The league meeting was held Sept. 24 in Edam with seven teams represented and back in the league. The league will consist of the defending champion Maidstone Jets, along with the Meadow Lake Stampeders, St. Walburg Eagles, Paradise Hill Hawks, Edam 3 Stars, Turtleford Tigers and Wilkie Outlaws.
There were rumors of other teams interested in joining the NSRHL and filling the void left by Spiritwood, who will move to the Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League.
In the end the season will go forward with seven teams and an 18-game schedule. Each team will have nine home and nine away games and play the other six teams three times each.
The regular season will start the weekend of Nov. 10. The regular season is scheduled to be completed by Feb. 2.
Nov. 5 there will be another league meeting, this to discuss rosters for the season.
Along with the teams, new executive members have been voted in. Nolan Werth will be the referee-in-chief and Doug Larre will be the acting president and the league' statistician.
Larre is looking for someone to step forward as either the league president or vice-president by the next meeting. Larre can be contacted at 218-7526.
