The Battlefords AAA Sharks were on the road on the weekend and faced the team they earned their win against earlier in the season.
The Sharks faced Notre Dame twice and lost 3-2 in a shootout and 2-0. The Sharks now sit at 1-8-1-2 on the season.
Sunday, the Sharks fell behind after Megan Threadkell scored in the first period.
In the second, the Sharks rallied to take a 2-1 lead. First, Taylor Durocher scored on a power play from Jetta Derenoski. The goal was the veteran defenceman's first of the season. Nearly 10 minutes later, Derenoski scored her first of the season from Mallory Roy. The Sharks held the lead until five minutes into the third period when the Hounds' MacKenzie Kuffner scored to tie the game.
In overtime, neither team scored and a shootout was needed.
Roy, Morgan Fraser and Durocher all missed for the Sharks while Olivia Ellis scored for the Hounds and won the game.
The Sharks were outshot 48-15 through the 65 minutes. Jacy Akre made 46 saves in the loss.
The day before, the shots were much closer but the Sharks couldn't kick start their offence.
Katelyn Breitkreuz scored in the first period for Notre Dame and Camille Duperreault scored shorthanded in the second period. That was enough for the win, as Akre made 24 saves.
Laura Wiebe earned the 25-save shutout for the Hounds.
Next on the schedule is a weekday game in Prince Albert Wednesday. The Sharks will wrap up the month of December with games in Regina Dec. 15 and 16.
