Amanda Grainger has played four seasons with the Battlefords AAA Sharks and 109 career regular season games, sixth most in the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League's history. She is now set to begin a new chapter in her hockey career.

Earlier this month, Grainger became the first Shark from the 2010-11 roster to commit to a team for next season. Grainger will join the Liberty University Flames, who play in the American Collegiate Hockey League. The Flames were 7-9-4 last season.

Grainger, the Warman product, leaves the Sharks after her best offensive season, as she recorded four goals and four assists in 28 games. The 5 forward was the team's captain and the one of three 1993-born players on the team. Despite being one of the smallest players in the league Grainger was one of the hardest workers and will have to keep that mentality, as she plans to head south to play in Lynchburg, VA.

Grainger is one of 39 players from the SFMAAAHL to commit to a post-secondary school program this season.

Other Sharks to commit to post-secondary teams include: Megan Entwistle - Mount Allison University (2009-10), Erin Heinemann - Red Deer College (2009-10), Tehnille Gard - SAIT (2009-10), Sarah Oliphant - Lindenwood University (2008-09), Ashley Kuechle - Chatham University (2008-09), Brittney Kaye - University of Lethbridge (2007-08), Lauren Campbell - Lindenwood University (2007-08), Kendra Ganchar - Lindenwood University (2007-08), Chelsea Lande - NAIT (2006-07) and Lynette Anderson - NAIT (2006-07).
