The Saskatchewan Hockey Association released the list of the top 45 under 18 female hockey players in the province this week, who will be invited to a summer camp in August. Ultimately those players will have a chance to play for Team Saskatchewan at the U18 Female National Championship in November.
The 45 players selected were a combination of returning players from the 2011 Team Saskatchewan roster along with players who excelled at the SaskFirst Zone Tournament in Regina.
One Battlefords AAA Sharks veteran was among the 12 defenceman selected to attend the camp. Raeanna Kelly, the 1995-born defender, was invited to the summer camp. She had two goals and three assists in 27 games with the Sharks this season in the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League. Over three years, Kelly has eight points and 56 games played with the Sharks.
The Cut Knife product will attend camp in Wilcox Aug. 15 to 19. From there Kelly could be selected to play in the Mandi Schwartz Challenge in September, the final evaluation process before the national championship in Dawson Creek, B.C. in November.
At the same time of the camp in Wilcox for U18 Team Saskatchewan hopefuls, the top under 16 female players from across Saskatchewan will also be on the ice at Notre Dame participating in the newly created U16 Development Camp.

AAA Sharks forward, the team's youngest player and leading scorer Delany Ross was one of 59 players invited to the U16 camp. Other Sharks include Jetta Derenoski, a forward with the Sharks house team and affiliate with the AAA Sharks and goaltender Danae Bugler, who played with the Bantam Sharks.
Kylie Goodfellow, and Chloe Marshall of Neilburg were also invited to the development camp.
