The Battlefords Sharks entered the holiday break on a positive note Thursday night with a 2-1 overtime win over the Prince Albert Northern Bears in female AAA action.
The Sharks got a goal from Jordyn Blais unassisted with three minutes to go in period two to open the scoring at Battleford Arena.
The Bears tied it in the third period on a goal from Kiara Stewart. But the Sharks prevailed in overtime on the goal by Blais again unassisted for the win.
The Sharks now hit the holiday break with a record of 6-9-1-0, in fifth place in the seven team AAA female league. They resume action Jan. 4 in Regina against the Rebels.
