The Battlefords Sharks kept pace with the one of the top teams in the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League Thursday, thanks to some solid goaltending from Rachel Mitchell.

Mitchell stopped 27 shots in the 7-0 loss against the Saskatoon Stars.

The Sharks trailed the Stars 3-0 after the first period and 4-0 after the second.

The Stars went to the net hard early in the third period and scored twice, which made the game look out of reach for the Sharks, who fell to 0-3-1-0 on the season.

The Sharks will be on home ice again this weekend, as they are set to host the Weyburn Golden Wings Saturday and Sunday.

Weyburn is 1-3-0-2 on the season.
