The Battlefords Midget AAA Sharks were home this past weekend for two highly-competitive games against the Notre Dame Hounds at Battleford Arena.

The first game Saturday night saw the Hounds win 6-2 over the Sharks. An unassisted goal from Laura Harper on the power play tied things up for the Sharks at 1-1 in the first, and then a goal by Mallory Roy from Emily Wilson put the Sharks ahead in the second.

But after that it was all Notre Dame as they scored two in the second and three in the third for the victory. MacKenzie Guffner had the hat trick in the win for the Hounds.

In the second game at noon Sunday the Sharks simply couldn't keep up with the Hounds and despite a late comeback, fell 5-4. Morgan Fraser had a hat trick in the game for the Sharks.

A power play goal by Fraser cut the margin to 2-1 after one, and she assisted on Jetta Derenoski's goal on the power play in the second to tie things up.

But the Hounds retook the lead on a Robin Nimegeers power play goal in the second and notched two more in the third period to go up 5-2. Two more Fraser goals, including a power play marker, made a game of it again but the Sharks could not come up with the equalizer.

Next action for the Sharks at home is Nov. 30 against Weyburn.
