The Battlefords AAA Sharks wrapped up the regular season with one of their best crowds of the season and their largest roster.

The Sharks have played with just 10 skaters for most games this season, but Friday in Flying Dust Arena, the Sharks had four affiliated players join the team and help fill out the roster for the neutral site game against the Prince Albert Bears.

The larger roster helped the Sharks stay close to Prince Albert for 40 minutes, as they surrendered one goal in the first period.

The score remained 1-0 until nine minutes into the third period when the Bears added to their lead. The Bears scored four goals in the third period while the Sharks' Taylor Durocher scored her third goal of the season from Shania Rhinehart and Kendra Gerbig to break the shutout.

Jacy Akre faced 51 shots in the Sharks' net while Jessica Vance and Kristen Cromartie split time in the Prince Albert net and faced a total of 18 shots.

Jostin Oborowsky, Brooke Lonoway, Jetta Derenoski and Cheyanne Conacher were the affiliated players used by the Sharks in their last regular season game.

The Sharks turn their attention to the playoffs, where they will face the 23-3-2-0 Notre Dame Hounds. The 1-27-0-0 Sharks will travel to Wilcox Feb. 25 and 26 and game three of the best-of-five series will be played March 1 at the Battleford Arena.
