SHSAA cross-country results

Athletes from across the province took part in the 2013 Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association Provincial Cross-Country Championships last weekend. Medstead School was the host for the competition, which was held at Little Loon Regional Park.

Athletes from across the province took part in the 2013 Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association Provincial Cross-Country Championships last weekend.


Medstead School was the host for the competition, which was held at Little Loon Regional Park. Listed below are local athletes who participated.


John Paul II Collegiate:


Jacob Stynsky, finished 84th among midget boys; Ellyssa Nielsen, finished 20th among junior girls; Katelyn Petersen, 21st among junior girls; Ashley Wehrhahn, finished 47th among junior girls; Jadyn Rea, finished 69th among junior girls; Johanna York, finished 79th among senior girls; and Ryan Abrahamson, finished 85th among senior boys.


JPII ranked 11th place among the 12 3A classification schools.


North Battleford Comprehensive High School:


Kiley Elmen, finished 65th among midget girls; Kaitlyn Friesen, finished 50th among junior girls and Megan Rathwell, finished 52nd among junior girls.


Cando Community School:


Tanisha Armstrong, finished 94th among midget girls and Kendra Littlebear, finished 88th among senior girls.


Cut Knife High School:


Brennan Steinhauer, finished 83rd among midget boys and Braden Antoine, finished 52nd among senior boys.


Leoville Central School:


Tyler Paddison, finished 14th among midget boys; Hailie McLean, finished 64th among senior girls and Kaylin Chalifour, finished 67th among senior girls.


Major School:


Cassidy Zunti, finished 30th among midget girls; Jaden Zunti, 49th among junior boys and Clay Patton, 72nd among junior boys.


McLurg High School:


Brett Glassford, finished 84th among midget girls.


Medstead Central School:


Chloe Bargen, 50th among midget girls and Josh Hill, 60th among midget boys.


Spiritwood High School:


Wayland Purdy, 77th among senior boys.


Unity Composite High School:


Damien Bowey, finished 38th among midget boys; Ben Robertson, finished 64th among midget boys; Kyla Van De Meutter, finished 31st among senior girls and Megan Babchuk, finished 69th among senior girls.


Unity Composite ranked third out of four 2A classification schools.
