Soccer season ends

Another Battlefords senior soccer season is in the books and the trophies and awards were handed out in mid-August. After winning the league, The Little Pine Ladies were upset in the championship tournament by the Athletics.

Another Battlefords senior soccer season is in the books and the trophies and awards were handed out in mid-August.

After winning the league, The Little Pine Ladies were upset in the championship tournament by the Athletics. The Athletics finished four points behind Little Pine in the regular season, but brought their A game as they won the tournament championship 6-1.

As for the regular season, Winddancer Jackson was the league's top scorer.

On the men's side, Sweetgrass Light won their last game of the regular season to capture the league championship honour, but they too were upset in the championship tournament final.

The third place FC Elite beat Sweetgrass 6-1 to earned the championship tournament's first place honours.

Kelly Halter was the league's top scorer.

Without the dedication of the players, fans and officials, the league would not flourish with eight men's and eight ladies teams.

One of those officials is Father Janko, who has been working the league since it began. Father Janko moved to Saskatoon and the league they would like to thank him for his years of series and wish him the best of luck.
