The ice may not be in the rinks for many of the teams in the Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League yet, but the schedule is set and the countdown to start the third season is on.
The SPHL was started four seasons ago with four teams in the league, Battleford, Maymont, Radisson and Saulteaux.
Saulteaux is no longer in the league, as they were dropped off the schedule halfway through last season.
Hafford, Cut Knife, Glaslyn and Perdue joined the league last season and this year Spiritwood is the new team.
Spiritwood chose to leave the North Saskatchewan River Hockey League to play in the SPHL.
The SPHL play is scheduled to start Nov. 23 with the Cut Knife Colts at home to Perdue.
Spiritwood and Hafford will kick off their seasons the next night in Spiritwood's first home game in the league.
The teams will play an uneven schedule of 17 games meaning each team will play a home-and-home with all seven other teams, which adds up to 14 games. The three other games come in extra games against three other teams once more.
Each team will have either eight or nine home games and eight or nine road games this season.
The teams are required to submit their rosters to the league by Nov. 19.
