After postponing the North Battleford Golf and Country Club's spring Scramble April 26 and 27, the game was on this past weekend - for one day of golf.
The annual Spring Scramble was cut short, as weather and a water break at the golf course forced the decision to call the tournament after one day, as the golfers couldn't take to course Sunday.
There was a good turnout of golfers, as 13 men's team of six golfers played in the first tournament of the season. Three women's teams of five golfers teed off as well for more than 90 golfers.
The teams were balanced out after factoring in all the golfers handicaps. The team of Jason L'Heureux, Ed Iwanchuk, Garry Flichel, Ken Pearson, Jack Piett and Chester Bajak took first place with a score of 54 - 18 strokes under par.
In second place, with a score of 58, was the team of Tim Sletten, Bernard Richard, Tom Cunningham, John Kabaroff, Jim Millar and Lyle Darwent.
Third in the men's division was the team of Troy Sack, Rod Leniuk, Al Hoffman, Dale Cain, David Whitford and Sean Leniuk with a score of 59.
One the women's side, Cheryl Hartl, Cindy Bartko, Janine Leniuk, Roxanne Reynoldson and Etta Meisner were first with a mark of 68, four strokes under par.
Rhonda Seidel, Lee Ann Cunningham, Sandy Logan, Donna Weber and Tayna Fauth were second with a score of 76.
In third place, two strokes back, was the team of Paula Scherr, Anita Simon, Darcy Tkatchuk, Bonnie Ernest and Judy Jamieson.
The next club tournament is the Ladies' North West Open, June 16 and 17.
