It is playoff basketball time for the four Humboldt based school as they competed in league championship games or got set for district and regional action.
Junior Girls
North West “A”
After finishing in fourth place in the regular season standings the HCI Mohawks got the week off as they were unable to compete for the league title.
Despite not being in contention for the league championship, the Mohawks’ season is not over as they turn their attention to the district championship tournament, where they will open on the road against St. Brieux.
North West “B”
The St. Dominic Chargers wrapped up a highly successful season as they captured the league championship with a dominant win over Cudworth 47-26.
The win capped off a 10-1 season for the Chargers, with their only loss being a forfeit at the end of the season.
Despite winning the league championship, the Chargers’ season has come to an end as they made the decision not to participate in the district tournament.
Humboldt Public also made the determination not to participate in the single elimination district tournament.
The St. Augustine Hawks meanwhile, decided to opt in to the tournament and will meet up with Lanigan in a quarterfinal final play in game, with the winner taking on Foam Lake in the quarters.
Junior Boys
North Central
The St. Dominic Chargers finished their league play on a high as they knocked off Middle Lake 43-34 in the unofficial third place game, to wrap up their season as they opted out of the district championships.
After their win last week in the league championship game, the St. Augustine Hawks used the week to get set for the district tournament where they will take on Annaheim in the first round.
Humboldt meanwhile, gets a first round bye and will await the winner of Wynyard Comp. and Yellow Quill.

The Humboldt Collegiate Mohawks also enjoyed the week off as their fifth place league finish kept them out of playoff contention.
Both Mohawks senior boys and girls also enjoy this weekend off as they get set for 4A Regionals March 17-18.
