The wins keep on adding up for the first-place Battlefords AAA Stars.

The midget Stars were in action last week in Beardy's against the Blackhawks, with the Stars seeking their fourth straight win in a row after wins over Saskatoon Contacts and Tisdale Trojans.

Beardy's got on the board first as Shane Regier scored from Ashton Wake and Cody Schwan in the first period to make it 1-0. In the second, though, Battlefords tied it on a Spencer Bast shorthanded goal from Corbin Schmidt. The Stars got the winner in the third period from Josh LaFramboise from Bast and Josh Bly for a 2-1 win.

Ryan Rewerts stopped 41 of 42 shots and was named Star of the Game for the Stars. Shane Regier got the honours for Beardy's.

The win was the Stars' fourth straight and also their third in a row on the road.

The Stars wrap up their road trip tonight in Prince Albert against the Mintos at Art Hauser Centre. They enter action in first place in the SMAAAHL with a 12-2-2-1 record for 27 points, one ahead of Notre Dame Argos.

Overall, several Stars team members continue to post impressive numbers in the scoring race. Spencer Bast now has 14 goals and 11 assists for 25 points, leading the league, while teammate Josh Bly has eight goals and 16 assists for 24 points, in second place. Rewerts ranks fifth in the league among goaltenders with a goals-against average of 2.31, with a save percentage of .926.

In other news, the Stars have confirmed they have received their invitation to the Mac's Invitational World Midget AAA Tournament beginning on Boxing Day in Calgary, Alta.

The tournament runs to Jan. 1 and includes 25 midget teams from across the west including Alaska.

The Stars return home Nov. 23 for a first-place showdown with the Notre Dame Argos. Game time is 2 p.m. at the Civic Centre.

A special promotion is planned for the game as the Stars team up with John Paul II Mission Team to collect winter clothing for the less fortunate this winter. Collection bins will be set up at the game and anyone bringing a winter jacket will get into the game free of charge. All winter clothing will be distributed by the John Paul II Mission Team and the Midget Stars within the community.
