The Battlefords Midget Stars are 2-0 at the Midget AAA Mac's Tournament in Calgary after beating the Calgary Buffaloes 4-1 Thursday night.
The Stars had the 1-0 lead and after the first 20 minutes were tied 1-1.
In the second period the Stars specialty teams took control of the game. Veteran forward Austin Duzan found the back of the net on a power play opportunity and later Josh Bly, who had four assists in the Stars first win of the tournament, capitalized on a five-on-three advantage.
The Buffaloes had a five-minute powerplay as well, but couldn't connect and Terrin Belowski scored shorthanded to make it a 4-1 game.
The Stars will play Friday afternoon against Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League rivals the Saskatoon Blazers.
