Before all the swimmers of the North Battleford Water Doves went their separate ways for the Easter break, the club held their annual year end water show at the Kinsmen Aquatic Centre.

It was a quick, but entertaining show and a great way for the girls and their coaches to cap of the season.

For some of the swimmers the season hasn't ended yet, as they will be traveling to Winnipeg May 13 to 15 for the MASY Challenge. The MASY Challenge included swimmers from Manitoba, Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Yukon.

To qualify for the MASY Challenge, the local synchronized swimmers gathered with all others from across the province and competed at provincials in Saskatoon April 16 and 17.

The Water Doves earned one first place medal, which came in the 10 and under solo routine. Courtney Roberts captured gold and a berth at the MASY Challenge. Courtney also finished eighth in the 10 and under figures event.

Victoria Machniak placed second at provincials in the synchronized swimmer with intellectual disability figures division.

In the novice age group figures division, Taylor Bouvier earned third place. Taylor, along with Kylie Burnett, Abby Crozier, Taylor Johnson, Kenzy Klippenstein, Morgan Menssa, Jenna Parker and Breah Weber will be in Winnipeg for the MASY Challenge after the 13 to 15 aged team placed fourth.

Seven of the team members also swam in the individual figures competition and Abby was 13th, Morgan was 20th, Taylor Johnson was 22nd, Breah was 24th, Kenzy was 27th, Kylie was 29th and Jenna was 32nd.

Jenna also competed in the 12 and under solo event and was seventh, as well as the 12 and under figures event and was 14th.

Jolie Boassaer was 20th in the 12 and under figures event.

In 12 and under duets, Jolie and Jenna placed third.

Kenzy and Kylie were fifth in the 13 to 15 duet event and will also be going to the MASY Challenge.

The girls had great swims," said club coach Sheila Parker of the Water Doves performance at provincials and hopes for the best for the nine representatives who will be competing in Winnipeg.
