Coach Steve Neufeld was also on hand to help give advice and continue to teach the athletes.

In the novice category, Wei came in first after winning all five of his matches. Nick came in third, winning two matches and losing two. Tristan Smith won two and lost three matches.

"The tournament went well," said Schalk. "We came home with many medals. We all practice hard and have a good coach and it shows. I like wrestling because it is hard work and a difficult sport but practice and determination pays off and it showed in this tournament. And even though wrestling is an individual sport the team is still like family."

The NBCHS wrestling team came home from their tournament satisfied and are looking forward to their next tournament Feb. 4 and 5 in Saskatoon.
